Why do people fail at diets?

As many have seen the fitness industry has been on a steady incline in the past few years. As a result diet products are selling more than ever, so why are people not losing as much weight as they want? Many people don't realize there are no magic pills out there that will just make you lose weight without a healthy diet and atleast 20 min. of exercise 3-4 days per week. People buy supplements as an easy solution to their weight issues and never consider them to just be an aid to reach their goals.

If you have ever tried a new diet you know all of the feelings involved with it. You start out very motivated and get everything you need in place, because organization is the biggest part of diet, right? Wrong, organization is definitly a key ingredient to diet, but motivation and being able to keep your mind on the goal are the main components of a successful diet. It is so easy to let life get in the way and say why bother after about a week. You may start out with success, but continuous healthy choices will eventually test your focus.

It is very hard to break old habits, especially one's you have had for years. Just like choosing to quit smoking you must go at this with all of your might. A diet eventually fails because people are on a diet for a quick fix to their health problems. Diet should mean more than a couple of weeks with low calories and high exercise. Diet should be a lifestyle choice that you continue with forever. With saying diet is a marathon I do not want people to get overwhelmed. A marathon is just a long race made up of a bunch of 100 meter dashes. You can't expect to go into a healthy lifestyle all at once, it takes time. If you want to have success take this day by day. Start out by making one good choice and build it up to a day full of organized healthy eating and exercise. I wish everyone luck and find a way to stay motivated!
